Hired to elevate the Faculty of Engineering’s globally renowned innovation ecosystem, Yvonne was a key contributor, building the Case for Support for an $85 million capital campaign “Educating the Engineer of the Future” directing communications for eight departments and multidisciplinary research centres, and securing international media coverage, notably a feature in Bloomberg Businessweek positioning University of Waterloo as “Canada’s Stanford”.

As Vice President of Publicity and Marketing for Penguin Group Canada, Yvonne played an integral role in re-invigorating the company brand, resulting in major author acquisitions and record results. She led a team of 17 people, setting the marketing and publicity agenda for all lines of business, winning a CMA Gold Award, Publisher of the Year and Marketing Campaign of the Year Awards.

Her oversight of cultural programming extended across 100 branches with a strong focus on diversity.
